The podcast
Desi Dramas
Clinical perspectives tailored to Desi lives, written and hosted by someone who lives them, too.
A window into how a therapist actually thinks.
Not generic mental-health content — clinical, cultural, and personal, all at once.
Desi Dramas is a podcast for Desis navigating the family, relationship, and identity questions that don't have easy answers. Hosted by Dr. Heena Manglani-Terranova, who has spent years working with Desi individuals, couples, and families, the show brings the questions Desis ask in therapy directly to you.
Most Desis don't have access to a clinician who shares their cultural context.
Each episode, Dr. Heena shares the questions she asks, the patterns she names, and the evidence-based tools she adapts for Desis — how to set boundaries with immigrant parents, break intergenerational guilt, and navigate cultural expectations around marriage. The goal is agency and balance within the cultures you value.
She is a 1.5-generation South Asian American — born in India, raised in the United States — and part of a bicultural couple herself. As a Desi, the stories she unpacks aren't only clinical. They're personal.

This isn't therapy. But we trust it will be therapeutic.
